The Casebook Podcast
A thrilling legal podcast that pulls back the curtain.
Each season, we will cover a legal case that shifted the world we live in. Some are known. Some, maybe not so well known. But we believe you will discover, as we surely have, when we have a societal shift, it’s not always a singular event, but often a piece-by-piece story of courage, discovery, insurmountable odds, personal sacrifice, a dose of the naive. That might sound a bit melodramatic. It is. Because the cases we will examine, I think you will conclude: you can’t make this shit up.
Our first Casebook will examine a company called Monsanto, a weedkiller they made, and a young attorney who, against all odds, challenged them. It’s a story that answers maybe the most important question: How? The answers will inspire whatever walk-of-life you inhabit.

Host: Alexandra Duparc
Alexandra Duparc was born in Santa Monica, CA and is the founder of the arts community Treehouse LA. She's a screenwriter, musician and humanitarian. As a side job while in a band, her work for the law firm Wisner Baum was to uncover key evidence and smoking guns in the discovery documents handed over by Monsanto. This experience enticed her to co-write a film about the trial, which was acquired by Netflix at Cannes Film Festival in 2024. Directed by John Lee Hancock and produced by Adam McKay and Kevin Messick, the film stars Glen Powell, Laura Dern, and Anthony Mackie.
